“If you can dream It! you can ACHIEVE IT”
Hello! Welcome to BPN
BPN: My thought behind Black Parent Now forum is to get a dialogue about education started in a positive way . When we join in this fight together, we can bring the dream back to life, and make it reality - if not for us, at least for our children. Read More About BPN

Make Education and parenting your kids the norm..
With guidance and a loving caring parent/parents black kids can achieve. and black kids are achieving.
College is not an option it is a must.
Home work before TV!!!...Ex box and all the must do “fun” Stuff..
Wake up America - get to the table and start with honest conversation on the topics. Stop skirting around the "N" word; stop blaming and start doing.
These issues are faced by young boys and girls around the world every day, not only in the USA. However, parents alone can fix this! It all comes down to self love and acceptance of the star that we are born under.
Your race is black. Live with it and live with yourself the best way you can.

Hello dear visitors,
Thank you all for yet another great month!
Although our site was only launched three months ago, we have received great interest both domestically and from hundreds of visitors around the world.
Your feedback and support clearly express great passion for restoring the Dream that so many of our great leaders have fought and died for.
During the last month we highlighted and discussed many new and interesting topics, and received particularly great feedback from our recent podcast about the importance of breakfast with the family.
In April we will continue our varied and ambitious program. We will continue to post commentary on current affairs and highlight relevant news articles, we will continue to update our resource links (new summer camp information is coming soon), and our podcast and blog will tackle several new and controversial topics.
Some of the new topics include: (a) challenges faced by single parents, (b) sex & drugs and teenage children, (c) the wide discrepancy in dropout-rates among black students compared to other ethnic groups (a blog has already been posted on an article that discusses the significant gap in college dropout rates of black basketball players in Division I Schools compared to their non-black teammates), (d) the importance of preparing and “attending” family dinners (a follow-up to our breakfast podcast), and finally (e) a in-depth discussion on scholarships and what resources parents should consider when approaching the fall college application process.
We are also proud to announce, and ask that you please mark your calendars for April 25th at 7:30PM EST, when BPN will launch its first of many Radio Talk blog broadcasts(press link for more detailed information)! This exciting new medium will be a platform for launching a truly interactive session where we will be discussing many of the topics that are being addressed at the BPN website.
We encourage your participation and look forward to continued feedback and support!
Thank You.
M.D.
